Endorsement — Passenger Transport (P)
Passenger endorsement theory for safely transporting passengers in buses, shuttles, and other passenger-carrying CMVs.
What You'll Learn
You'll learn the unique safety requirements of passenger-carrying commercial vehicles. The course covers pre-trip inspection procedures specific to buses — from emergency exits to brake-door interlocks. You'll study proper loading and unloading techniques, including assistance for passengers with disabilities and ADA compliance requirements. Emergency evacuation procedures are covered in depth: when to evacuate, how to direct passengers, and what equipment to use. The course teaches passenger management — handling disruptive behavior, enforcing safety rules, and maintaining a safe environment while driving. You'll also learn about standee lines, vehicle capacity limits, prohibited practices (no fueling with passengers aboard, etc.), and baggage/cargo handling restrictions.
How the Course Works
Two instruction units — Passenger Safety Fundamentals and Emergency & Operational Procedures. Self-paced sections with quizzes. No time limits. Most students finish in 2–4 days.
