CDL Study Buddy was built to make commercial driver license preparation accessible to everyone — completely free. We believe that cost should never stand between a driver and their CDL career. Our platform combines practice tests, FMCSA-compliant ELDT theory courses, handbooks, and training videos in one place.
What We Offer
Over 25,000 practice questions covering every CDL endorsement category: General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Combination Vehicles, Hazmat, Tanker, Passenger, School Bus, and Doubles/Triples — available for all 50 states. We also offer free FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) theory courses with automatic Training Provider Registry (TPR) registration.

FMCSA-Compliant ELDT Training
Since February 2022, the FMCSA requires all new CDL applicants to complete Entry-Level Driver Training before taking their skills test. CDL Study Buddy offers free, self-paced ELDT theory courses that satisfy this requirement. Upon completion, we register your training with the FMCSA Training Provider Registry.
